Bio
From fuzzed-out head bangers to retro indie pop songs, The Etiquettes cover a lot of sonic ground with their impassioned sound.
The band consists of two brothers, Nick and Alex Barth, who after growing up playing music together in Michigan, went their own ways only to reconnect later in Denver. They formed an early iteration of the band and while playing in a local Denver club, they were booked with another area band featuring drummer, James Diana. After watching each others’ sets the three decided to work together on a new project.
They started playing together in the Fall of 2019 and quickly discovered a great musical chemistry and a passion for live performances. Developing their sound to blend with Nick’s unique songwriting, they found a knack for creating high-energy, catchy, original rock songs that blend influences from a number of styles.
The trio started gaining ground in the Denver music scene with performances at venues like Seventh Circle, Globe Hall and Lions’ Lair and began working on recording an early collection of songs. As with many though, the band's plans became uprooted during the covid lockdown era. Although, production of their first EP continued. After releasing the six-song EP and with music venues opening back up, the band decided it was time for a fresh start.
In the Summer of 2022, the release of a brand new, two-song double marked the beginning of a new chapter for the group as The Etiquettes and a step forward in their songwriting as the band embraced a more modern and refined sound. Thereafter, The Etiquettes hit the ground running, performing up and down the front range of Colorado, including a spot at the Lafayette Music Fest and a self-built single release show at Larimer Lounge in Denver. All of the band's recording and producing has happened in-house and they credit this in the shaping of their highly original sound.
Priding themselves on their work ethic, determination and self-started roots, the band continues to write, record and perform in the greater Denver area and has plans to release a full-length studio album and begin touring in 2023
